Where can I learn more about Visible’s Data and Privacy Portal?

Visible has a Data and Privacy Portal available for Members, former Members and their Authorized Agents. It is accessible via the Privacy Policy in the footer of Visible’s website. Please select one of three buttons at the bottom of the page that best describes your relationship to Visible: Member, Former Member, or Agent.

Many states across the country have comprehensive privacy laws that govern the collection, use and sharing of personal information. For simplicity, Visible has made most of its processes uniform, allowing consumers to:

  • View and download a portable copy of information associated with you or your line
  • Delete certain information associated with you
  • Correct certain information associated with you
  • Appeal a denial of your privacy request (only available to residents of certain states).

How do I opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or opt out of targeted advertising?
Our customers and website visitors can limit the “sale” and “sharing” of personal information and use of personal information for certain types of targeted advertising described below. Some state privacy laws give consumers the right to make these opt-out choices.

We may “sell,” “share” or use personal information for targeted advertising as defined by state privacy laws in the following ways:

  • We share or allow third-party advertising and ad measurement companies, including social media companies, to collect information about your activity on our websites and in our app through the use of cookies, pixels, beacons, tags, scripts, identifier matching and similar technologies on our digital properties. We may also disclose personal information we have about you to these companies that they can use to help us provide more relevant Visible advertising on our own sites and on non-Visible sites and apps. These companies can use information we share and combine it with information they may have about you, including information they collect about your activity and behavior from your visits to others’ sites and apps, to serve targeted advertising to you on other sites and platforms, to serve you with ads based on your interests, and to find other potential customers. We also use personal information obtained about you from other companies to serve you with ads that are more relevant to you.
You can let us know that you do not want personal information about you used for these activities by opting out on our Your Privacy Choices page or by using a browser-based Global Privacy Control signal.

You can find more details about your rights under the state laws and our privacy practices in our Privacy Policy and California Privacy Notice.

If you are a user of the Visible Merch or Visible Offers sites, additional information is available on those pages. For Visible Merch, visit the Visible Merch site, scroll down and click on Your Privacy Choices in the footer. For Visible Offers visit the Visible Offers page and click on Your Privacy Choices in the footer.

What does a GPC signal mean?
A GPC, or Global Privacy Control, allows you to set preferences at a browser level for all websites you visit. This will only work on GPC-enabled browsers; instructions on how to turn on the GPC will vary by browser. You can learn more on the Global Privacy Control website. Once set, your browser will send a signal to the websites you visit, including Visible. When you visit Visible’s site, you will see a banner at the top of our webpage acknowledging your GPC signal, and we will opt you out of the selling or sharing of personal information and use of personal information about you for targeted advertising. When we are receiving a GPC signal from your browser, we will not allow you to opt back into the sale or sharing of personal information or the use of personal information for targeted advertising. Your use of the GPC will override any conflicting choice you make on the Your Privacy Choices page.

How do I request to download personal information and how long does it take?
To download information about you or your line, visit the Data and Privacy Portal, sign in with your credentials, and select "Download personal information" under the Manage tab.
It may take up to 45 days to complete your file. (Note: We may need to extend that by up to 45 additional days where necessary, depending upon the complexity and number of submissions).
Because of the sensitivity and size of the data contained in the download file, we suggest downloading information over a secure Wi-Fi network.

How will submitting a request impact me as a customer?
Visible will never discriminate against any consumer who decides to exercise his or her rights or take advantage of the features available via the Data and Privacy Portal. However, please be advised that your user experience may be impacted if you choose to change your privacy options. For example, the advertising you receive may be less relevant to you and you may receive less personalized content.

What type of information can I download?
The main categories of information that can be downloaded are:
  • Account and identity
  • Network and customer activity
  • Add-ons
While information such as quantities of SMS/MMS, voice, and data usage is included, the contents of specific communications (received and/or sent) are not available.

Is there a charge for submitting a request?
You will not be charged if you decide to submit a request.

Is it possible to cancel my download request?
Yes, you have five (5) days to cancel your request.

How will I know if my request was submitted successfully? Will I get notified by email?
After you submit your request using the Data and Privacy Portal, a notification window will confirm that your request went through. You'll also receive an email confirmation of your request. If you've requested a download, you'll receive another email notification when your file is ready. You can also visit your Request History in the Data and Privacy Portal to check on the status of your request.

If I submitted a request to download personal information and haven't received the file, who can I contact?
If you haven't been notified after 30 days, please contact us by submitting a privacy inquiry form.

Why did my download file expire?
For your protection, your download file will automatically expire after 365 days.

If I'm a former customer, how long does Visible keep my information? Can I submit a request?
As a former customer, you can submit a request to view personal information associated with your former account that Visible may still have. However, because your phone number or other contact information that we had while you were a customer may have changed after you terminated service with Visible, we may not be able to provide information about the line you previously had with us.

Why can't I view my file or download it to my computer?
If you are having trouble viewing or downloading your file, try clearing your temporary internet files located under the history section of your browser.
After you've cleared your Internet cache, temporary files, and cookies, please try to download again.

How much of my personal information can I download?
You can select a custom date range for your specific phone number.

How do I authenticate my account in the Data and Privacy Portal?
You will need to enter your username, password and follow the multi-factor authentication process to access the Data and Privacy Portal. In order to complete your download and access your file, you will need to enter the code that we will email to you following your request.

I received a notification confirming a request I made or a change to my privacy options or personal information. If I didn't make any requests or changes, what should I do?
If you received a notification about a download, deletion or correction of information about you or your line, then a request was processed via email or through the Data and Privacy Portal. These types of requests are only available if the requester successfully passed security authentication.

If you did not initiate this request, we advise the following actions to secure your account:
  • Open the Data and Privacy Portal, navigate to Privacy Rights and View Request History. There you will find the request for which you received the notification.
  • For additional precautions, consider the following:
    • Reset the password on your account.
    • Review your Visible account to ensure no unauthorized purchases or changes have been made.
      • If fraudulent activity is suspected, we highly suggest changing your account password and refrain from reusing passwords across sites.

Can I delete personal information Visible has collected about me?
Yes, however, some personal information must be retained for operational and legal purposes. Upon a deletion request, if Visible identifies data that can be deleted, we will notify you via email of the deletion completion.

How do I correct inaccurate personal information?
You may submit a request through the Data and Privacy Portal or by using our privacy inquiry form.

You denied my privacy request. How do I submit an appeal?
Residents of certain states have the right to submit an appeal for a previously denied request. To learn more about your rights, please visit the Privacy Policy. To submit an appeal, please use our privacy inquiry form.
