With over 99% of the U.S. population covered , there’s not many places Verizon's Networks haven’t been…yet.
Short answer: it depends on your location and device. You’ll need to have a 5G compatible device to get 5G coverage, as well as the available 5G networks (differences in availability and device compatibility apply with the Ultra Wideband and Nationwide 5G networks). Currently, Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, S21, S21+, iPhone 12, Google Pixel 4A 5G, Google Pixel 5, and Blade X1 5G are our only 5G compatible devices. And of course, you’ll need to be in an area with 5G availability. Please note that even within a coverage area, many factors, including network capacity, your device, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage and weather, may affect availability and quality of service.
iPhone users: you'll need the most up-to-date iOS software and carrier bundle for your device before you can be
enabled for 5G. Remember, iPhone 12 is currently the only iPhone device enabled for 5G.
Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, S21 5G, S21+ 5G: once 5G is available on your device, connect to WiFi and go to Settings. Then, click on Software Update and select Download and Install to install the upgraded software.
Blade X1 5G and Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G users: Welcome to the 5G party! Your phone will automatically work with 5G after purchasing it from Visible, but if you aren’t seeing the 5G icon while you’re in a 5G coverage area, please check and make sure you have the latest software bundle. If you have the latest software bundle, remember that even within a coverage area, many factors, including network capacity, your device, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage and weather, may affect availability and quality of service.
Nope! 5G is included in our standard plan.
