Visible Developer - Users Forum
January 4th, 2007
Greetings!
Now that 2006 is behind us, Visible Systems is very excited
about what's ahead in 2007 by reaching out to our new and existing customers.
We would like to take a moment of your time to fill you in on some thrilling
new changes we have done this last quarter and what we have in our pipeline
for Visible Developer in 2007.
This last quarter we released our newest update to Visible Developer. This
release included a variety of patches and enhancements that continues to make
Visible Developer a superior product. Some key changes were:
- Ability to override the edit
point code instead of overriding and rewriting the full method in the
custom pattern
- Support for the
"Delegate" and "Event" keywords in generated code
- Generate a Custom Method as
"Sub", "Function" or "Property"
- Add Description or Comments
from Visible Developer into the code as a rule comment
- Import Tables and Views
into Visible Developer as a one step process
- Ability to specify where a
custom method is placed, the row or list class
- Ability to have the names
of the included tables to be more descriptive as it relates to
relationships
- Migrate / copying models
and business objects
- Textbox field will not be
erased when exception is thrown
- Prevent the grid from
resizing and covering the search controls on the form
- A new tutorial for table
rules
As 2007 progresses we have another release that is right around
the corner. This release will implement ASP.Net functionality with Visual
Studio 2005. We at Visible Systems are very aware of where the market is
headed and we understand that ASP.Net is a must if we want to be competitive
and provide the best product to both new and existing customers. Along with
the ASP.Net changes, this next release will improve the overall product's
support by allowing our technical team to use a single platform to perform in-depth
research and support required for prompt resolution of problems.
The most exciting project we are currently planning for the New Year is
Visible Developer 2007. Although this project is still in the concept phase,
we want you to know that the emphasis of this project is to redesign the User
Interface as well as enhance some key features. We understand the importance
of communicating with our customers which is why we are reaching out to you
for your input. Send us your ideas about the features you would like to see
improved from the UI prospective and which features would make Developer
continue to stand out. Shortly we will be sending out information on how to
participate in this enhancement process and we encourage your feedback, no
matter what your suggestion is. Our main focus for 2007 is on building a
community that allows new and existing customers to participate. This
community will allow the users of Visible Developer to interact with each
other and ask questions while exploring new and exciting ways to access the
true power of Visible Developer. To accomplish this, we have established a
new and improved Visible Developer forum that allows our users to communicate
with Visible Systems and other users. You can access the forum by going to www.visibleforum.com
or through our website at www.visible.com.
This forum can be used to ask questions and seek for answers that are
important to the users.
Lastly, Visible Systems would like to say thank you for all of your support
over the years and we look forward to serving you in the years to come.
Please be on the lookout for new information pertaining to our new releases
and remember to use our forums to post your questions and to seek answers to
your important questions. As always, you can contact our technical services
department via e-mail at visdev_support@visible.com or call 781-778-0200.
Sincerely,
John Nash
